Yarra Junction 08

Yarra Junction 08

I've noted the key after the tune title.
The fiddlers are crosstuned for D = ADAE, for A = AEAE, for C and G = GDAE.
Recorded February 14 - 18, 2008.

Going Uptown _A  different than what I knew, but a very sweet play
Port Arthur Blues _G   There's an unattractive noodling going on (probably from me), but it's a tune worth remembering. According to the Fiddler's Companion, it references Port Arthur, Texas, a place where many Cajuns settled.
Midnight on the H2O _D
Shootin' Creek _D  Liam leading the old Fuzzy Mountain String Band version
Spotted Pony _D  With the Guildford jam group, the Guildford And Region Banjo and Guitar Ensemble. Including 'fiddles' in the group's name would spoil the acronym, I guess. :-)
Cookhouse Joe _A
Sheep Shell Corn _A
High Yeller _C
Double File _A
One Rose Waltz
Black River _C  From the playing of Gene Goforth.
Jawbone _A
Devil on a Stump _C  I can't help myself from playing Wagoner One Step along with this. It works as a bit of an embellishment to my ears.
Name This Tune  From Maggie Duncan's late night jam...anyone?
Pretty Little Gal _A
Rattletrap _A
Sugarhill _D  Warning - this is a big file, allow a few minutes to download even at high speeds. The tune is played for 8+ minutes.

There's more tunes where these came from,
but I wanted to get some posted here
without much delay. So, stay tuned.
